You know the one—the aesthetic, low-light video of a woman in a velvet robe, her bank account pinging with a $500 tribute.
She looked expensive. She looked powerful.
And I? I was sitting on my bed in a trailer, wearing my winter coat under a heated blanket because the air was thin and the walls were thinner.
I was tired of being cold.
I was tired of the "mess."
I figured if I couldn’t find a way out, maybe I could buy my way out by becoming a Goddess.
Day 1: The Banquet of the Queen
I bought the robe on Amazon.
It was polyester, itchy, and smelled like a factory.
I lit a singular candle to set the "vibe," but the only vibe in that trailer was "survival."
My "throne" was a mattress with a dip in the middle. My royal banquet was a bowl of rice with butter and soy sauce.
If you’ve never had rice and butter as a luxury meal, you don’t know what a real "mess" looks like.
By 9:00 PM, I had exactly three messages.
One was a bot. The other two were men asking if I accepted payment in crypto-coupons.
I sat there in my itchy robe, Glizzy curled up at my feet, and realized that the "Queen" was currently being defeated by a man trying to pay her in digital cheese.
Day 2: The Logistics of Being God (in a Winter Coat)
Turns out, being a "Financial Dominatrix" requires a level of administrative competence I have never possessed.
I spent six hours trying to set up an anonymous email while my fingers were freezing.
I tried to curate a "menacing" persona, but it’s hard to sound like a vengeful deity when you’re the kind of person who says "you too" when a waiter tells you to enjoy your meal.
I sent out a draft: “Worship me, peasant. Pay for my lifestyle.”
I hit send and immediately felt the heat of shame.
What if they actually replied? I’m not built for psychological warfare.
I’m built for sitting in the quiet with my dog and trying to keep the lights on.
I checked my inbox. Zero notifications.
I ate my buttered rice and tried to look "impenetrable."
I looked like a raccoon that had wandered into a basement and found a polyester robe.
Day 3: The Abject Surrender
By day three, the reality of the throne finally set in.
The robe was sliding off my shoulder, revealing the winter coat I was wearing underneath it.
I had exactly $4.50 in my "tribute" account.
It had been sent by a guy named "FootLover88" who sent me a picture of his dog instead of a credit card number.
I looked at the TikTok again.
The girl was still there, looking detached and utterly untroubled by the existence of a propane bill.
Then I looked at Glizzy.
He didn't need me to be a Queen. He just needed me to be here.
The Bottom Line
I’m retiring.
The robe is going back to Amazon. The candle is going in the trash.
I realized that I was trying to find a "Sugar Daddy" to fix a life that only I have the power to rebuild. I was looking for a shortcut to the majick because the mess felt too heavy to carry.
Being a villain is exhausting.
Especially when you’re doing it in a trailer with your coat on.
I’d rather be a person who occasionally forgets to turn the stove off than a "Goddess" on a throne made of fake tributes and broken promises.
The only "tribute" that matters is the fact that I’m still here.
And for the first time, that’s enough.
