When 222 Showed Up in the Middle of Chaos

Image
Sometimes the universe doesn’t whisper. Sometimes it interrupts.   Recently, I found myself suddenly forced out of a place I had been staying. My friend was already getting kicked out, and then her landlord said I had to go too because of the dog. Just like that, I was left trying to figure out where I was going to sleep, how I was going to pay for a hotel, and what I was supposed to do next. At the time, I had no money available. I had also already helped pay for food in that house, even though I was no longer going to be staying there. So yes, I asked for that money back. Not to be difficult, but because I was trying to survive a situation that changed instantly. What made the whole experience stand out to me was this: in the middle of it, I saw 222. Later, I realized I had left my phone behind. That may not sound deep to everyone, but to me it mattered. Because if I had my phone in that moment, while I was emotional and overwhelmed, I probably would have said things I didn’t me...

Why Shadow Work Actually Works — And Why Most People Are Doing It Wrong

Image
Shadow work is having a moment right now. It's all over TikTok. There are a thousand journals for it on Etsy. Coaches are charging hundreds of dollars to guide you through it. Everyone is talking about healing their inner child and integrating their shadow and doing the deep work. And most of them are doing it completely wrong. Not because they don't want to heal. But because the way shadow work is being sold right now is missing the entire point. I know because I've done the actual work. The real kind. The kind that took me all the way back to memories I didn't even know I had. Back to before I had words. Back to the crib. And it didn't start with a beautifully designed journal prompt. It started with one question. What Shadow Work Actually Is — And What It Isn't Shadow work is not: Writing down your feelings and calling it healing Identifying your triggers and leaving it there Blaming everyone who hurt you and feeling righteous about it A 30 day program with ...

Angel Numbers Kept Showing Up In My Darkest Moments — Here's What They Were Actually Saying

Image
Yesterday I was talking to someone online about something I'm building — a new project, a new idea, another piece of something I'm pouring myself into — and I looked down at my phone. The battery percentage and the time. I stopped mid sentence. Because that's the thing about the universe — it doesn't make an appointment. It doesn't wait for a convenient moment. It just shows up and goes hey. are you paying attention? And I always am. Because I've learned to be. I Didn't Start Out Believing In Angel Numbers I'm not someone who grew up meditating and burning sage and journaling about moon cycles. That's not where I came from. I came from chaos. From a relationship that was slowly swallowing me whole. From choices that landed me in a place I never thought I'd be. From rock bottom looking up wondering what the hell happened to my life and whether I had anything left to build with. That's where the numbers started showing up. Not when things were...

Nobody Tells You Sobriety Can Break You Too

Image
You get sober and you think the hard part is over. You white-knuckled your way through withdrawal. You said no when everything in you was screaming yes. You did the thing everyone said you needed to do. And then you waited for life to reward you for it. It doesn't. Nobody warns you about that part. The part where you're clean, you're trying, you're showing up every single day — and the world just keeps not giving a shit. No job comes through. No housing falls into place. No safety net appears. No one claps for you just for staying sober when staying sober is the hardest thing you've ever done. And that silence? That's the thing that breaks people. Not the addiction. Not the withdrawal. The silence after. The moment when you've done everything right and nothing has changed and you're sitting there thinking — what was the point? That's the moment society calls a relapse a moral failure. That's the moment they shake their heads and say ...

That's Not a Coach. That's a Thief. - The Truth About Guru Culture

Image
My unfiltered opinion on the free webinar industrial complex and why I'm done with all of it. Let me paint you a picture. You see an ad. Someone confident, successful looking, probably sitting in front of a ring light or a luxury car, telling you that they want to help you change your life. For free. Just sign up for their webinar. No cost. No catch. So you do it. Because you genuinely want to learn. Because you are hungry for something real. Because you are trying to build something and you just need someone to show you how. And then you show up. And for the next 45 minutes to an hour you watch someone talk about themselves. How much they make. How hard they worked. How they cracked the code. How prestigious their program is. How busy they are. How many people want access to them. And you sit there waiting. Waiting for the actual information. Waiting for the teaching. Waiting for the thing they promised you. It never comes. The Formula They All Follow I want to be clear - this is...

Why I Started Learning Data Analysis in Sobriety (And Why My ADHD Brain Finished Module 1 in Under 30 Minutes)

Image
Sometimes the best thing you can do for your recovery is give your brain somewhere new to go. I've been sober since November. And if I'm being completely honest with you - it hasn't been a perfect straight line. There were hiccups. There were moments where I questioned everything. But here I am, and the one thing I know for certain right now is this: I don't want drugs. I don't need them. And my brain finally has something better to do. Let me explain The Problem With an ADHD Brain in Early Recovery If you have ADHD you already know that your brain is basically a race car engine running in a body that sometimes forgets where the track is. In active addiction that engine gets fed. Substances give your brain the dopamine hit it's constantly chasing. It's not a moral failing. It's not weakness. It's literally brain chemistry. So when you get sober - which is the most powerful and brave thing you can do - your brain doesn't just quietly settle down ...

I Forgot What I Taught My Kid

Image
There was a time I celebrated everything. Not in a confetti-and-champagne way. More like a "hey, we made it through today, that counts" way. I had a kid. And I was trying to teach him something important — that wins don't have to be big to matter. That noticing the good stuff, even the tiny stuff, is how you build a life that doesn't crush you. Got through a hard homework assignment? Win. Made it to school on time? Win. Chose kindness when it would've been easier to be a jerk? Big win. I wasn't just teaching gratitude. I was teaching him how to see his own life. How to find proof that he was doing okay, even on the hard days. And it worked. But somewhere along the way — between survival mode and starting over and losing things I thought I'd have forever — I forgot. I stopped counting my own wins. I stopped noticing. I got so focused on how far I still had to go that I forgot to look back at how far I'd already come. And here's the thing about gra...
